CLASS POLICIES
CP2 is blessed to have the talents of the best teachers out there
for rubberstamping! There isn’t a one of them who wouldn’t be
respected and appreciated for their skills anywhere in the country.
A lot of work goes into developing a class and preparing the class
kits. Most of us realize this and appreciate this. Unfortunately
sometimes we’re forgetful. Sometimes life gets in the way. CP2 will
actually start enforcing its policies. Class fee must accompany
registration for a class. Cancellations must be 48 hours in advance
of the class to be refunded; otherwise the teacher will leave a
class kit for the no-shows. For the majority of the classes, class
space will be available right up to the last minute. When a student
is running a little behind, a quick phone call is really
appreciated. I hope everyone reading this realizes that it is not
intended as a punitive measure, but rather as a way of showing the
teachers the respect that they deserve.
Just a reminder.... label your tools and any stamps that you bring to a class. Many times we find pens or inks that we know are not classroom tools, but we have no way of knowing to whom they should be returned! Class Kit: BRING YOUR CLASS KIT TO CLASS Two scissors - one detail, one regular, craft or X-acto knife, bone folder, ruler with metal edge, black ink pad, pencil, eraser, notebook, and either a glue stick or double-sided tape. Specific classes may require special additions, such as colored pencils or specific ink colors. |
|
Tuesdays: 10:30am-12:00pm $3.00
No RSVP’s needed for this class. Susan Kapp is the organizer and she has pictures of future and past card samples on her website: www.kappkards.piczo.com. Bring your class kit, $3.00, and a smile for an hour and a half of fun and camaraderie. |
|
Twinkling H2O’s: Saturday, Nov. 1: 10am-12pm no charge
Come in and play! I’ll set out the Twinkling H2O’s, brushes, paper, and stamps. If you’ve never used these beautiful micaeous watercolor paints or you’ve never used them on stamps, you should come in and give them a “road test”. |
|
Christmas with Judy Duke: Friday, Nov. 7: 6-8pm $25.00
Start your convention weekend with great Christmas cards designed by Judy Duke and featuring (of course) B & J Art Stamps. Judy is a super teacher and always has some new idea, image, or technique to share! |
|
The Organizer: Kathy Rosecrans: Sat, Nov. 8: 1-4pm $25.00
Kathy has developed the coolest organizer just in time for the holiday season and the images featured are a delightful new set from Penny Black, “The 12 Days of Christmas.” She’ll have you folding, stamping, and gluing like crazy! Your finished folder will have sections for your naughty or nice lists, to do list, and your receipts. This is the year to be organized.

China Phoenix 2 will be open Monday, Nov 10th from 10am-2pm
|
|
Wednesday, Nov. 12: 10:30am-12:30pm class only….$12.00 Class, Kit, and Stamps $45.00
Magenta has introduced two new Christmas collage stamps. Each stamp is made up of squares and rectangles with a variety of holiday images. The mounted stamp is one single piece of rubber; the cling mounted version is cut into the various parts, so that you can use it as one stamp or use any of the parts. It also simplifies layering the images. |
|
Sat, Nov. 15: 10am-1pm $28.00
Anne uses her lovely Japanese Washi paper to cover this little treasure. What sets this book apart is the double spine. The book can be opened from either side; you could use one side to diary your good thoughts and the other side for the bad…well, that was a thought, but imagine, you could list all your gift purchases and cards sent on one side and the ones received on the other. You will want your bone folder and awl in your class kit.

|
Sat, Nov. 15: 2-4pm $30.00
Anne will teach you to use the washi paper and her wonderful glass pieces and silver findings to make lovely earrings and a pendant. You will need Diamond Glaze and three pairs of jeweler’s pliers – chain nose, side cutters, and the kind with a protective plastic shield (no teeth.) The pliers are available at bead stores, jeweler’s supplies, and the hobby stores. Take both of Anne’s classes for $56.00. |
|
Monday, Nov. 17: 1-4pm $25.00
This is a box making class. You will start with pieces of book board, ty-vek, PVA, your scissors, ruler, bone folder, and beautiful Japanese washi paper and make a collapsible portfolio that is perfect for filling with a few of your handmade cards and gifting. |
|
Sat, Nov. 22: 10am-12:30pm $25.00
You will make three cards using the delightful, but strange little people from Stampotique - -- “Winter”, “Joy”, and “Santa Baby”. You will be using Tombow markers; if you are bringing your own markers, please, have them labeled. |
|
Christmas Traditions: Kathy Rosecrans: Sat, Nov 22: 1:30-4:00pm $25.00
These Christmas cards are much more traditional using images from Hero Arts. |
|
Sat, Nov. 29: 10am-4pm $65.00
Okay, probably it would be more accurate to call the workshop “The Angel Altered Book”; however, I liked the sound of this more. You will spend most of your time on the cover. This is another of Teresa’s wonderful workshops taking very ordinary notebooks and transforming them into something really special. |
|
Clean-Up Class: Teresa Stoa: Sunday, Nov. 30: 1-4pm $10.00
Teresa teaches great classes/ workshops, but even she realizes that they are usually pretty intense and frequently require homework after the fact. So, if you have any unfinished class projects from Teresa’s classes, she’d like you to bring them in and finish them. She’ll be here to help with any advice or instruction needed. This is an opportunity to tie up loose ends before the New Year. |
|
Stenciled Scarf: Nancy Y: Wednesday, Dec. 3: 10:30am-12:30pm $25.00
A couple of months ago I took a wonderful class from Fred Mullett called “The Elegant Mess”. Since I can’t copy his amazing teaching, I’ve decided to use a little of what I learned and put it on fabric. The scarf classes I’ve taught in the past have used Jacquard Textile paints, Lumiere, and Dye-na-flo and we’ve stamped. This class will use Adirondack Color Wash mists, stencils from Tattered Angels, and I don’t think I can resist a bit of Lumiere. |
|
Saturday, Dec. 6: 10am-12pm & 1-3pm $10.00
This workshop will be offered twice with each session having a $10.00 fee. I think the term “scraplings” may have originated with Shari Carroll, a truly gifted designer who does many of the Hero Arts samples. Shari and Kathy agree that no left-over scrap of paper or ribbon is too small to be of use. That said, bring your scraps and prepare to share. Kathy has some great ideas for tags and little mini-gifts that you can make with your scraps. |
|
Sparkle Ornaments: Nancy Y: Saturday, Dec. 13: 10am-12pm Saturday, Dec. 20: 10am $5.00 for the first ornament, $3.00 for each subsequent ornament
The glass balls will be prepared; the pearl-ex, glitters, and paints will be laid out. You can come in to do one ornament or a box full. I will take drop-ins as long as the ornaments hold out, but I’d appreciate reservations. |
|
Saturday, Dec. 13: 1:30-3:30pm $25.00
This is another class from Anne using her wonderful washi paper. This time you’ll make a tree ornament and then using the same basic technique, but working much smaller, you’ll make a pendant and a pair of earrings. I love this, you can always make jewelry to match a special outfit or as a gift. |
|
Pre-inventory Sale: CP2 will have an end of the year sale. The exact dates for the sale and for holiday closures are still up in the air (It all depends on whether I attend an out of state family wedding.) I’ll be posting the dates and e-mailing once it has been decided.
