News and Views ~ July, 2010
Half the year is behind us. It has
gone so fast. The CP2 teachers have come up with wonderful
classes for the next three months; however, I have very few
samples for August and September yet, so I’m only posting July
right now…but what a July! There are classes for everyday type
cards, a couple of “get a jump on Halloween” classes, and a
book-making class. You’ll have the opportunity to use some of
the newest stamps from Hero Arts and Tim Holtz, as well as the
new Tim Holtz dies and folders.
Delivery men have been really busy bringing lots of boxes to
CP2. There are boxes with the newest Hero Arts images, boxes
with new dies and folders, boxes replenishing ink pads and
reinkers, boxes of Merc Art tools for metal crafting, boxes with
beautiful B Line stamps, Somerset Studio magazines, more
Stickles, more Smooch.
Two very important things have happened here: there is now a CP2
blog and a new Cp2 shop cat.
• The blog is the brainchild and labor of Cheryl Valadez. She
updates it with great frequency and takes lots of pictures. I
give you the bare bones on the website and Cheryl fleshes them
out. Cheryl also manages her own blog with lots of ideas,
pictures, and instructions. Visit them both!

• Inky Binx is a beautiful black cat who showed up at the
backdoor looking for food, shelter, and companionship. He is a
most persuasive fellow. While he loves people and likes
participating in art projects, he is most accommodating about
staying in the back room or office when those allergic to him
are about. Binx is also very fond of being photographed; when
you see his picture on the website or blog, it is because he
volunteered. (When I say “volunteered”, I really mean he jumped
up and settled in – he especially likes the fabric that Cheryl
uses!)
New Mexico State Fair is just around the corner. Once again, the
deadline for making changes to the entry classifications got by
me, so they remain the same. Check the www.exponm.com website
for dates and rules.
I’ll be talking to the teachers and encouraging them to “GET ME
SAMPLES!”, so that I can get the next two months ready for you.
Cheryl Thorpe has gotten me a sample for her September 18th
class and it’s a wonder! Annie Onderdonk is cooking up something
special and I’ve had hints from Teresa, Cheryl V., and Kathy R.
I hope to see each of you soon.
