News and Views November & December, 2008

Dear Stampers,

Don’t you just love these cool, crisp fall days? I think it’s wonderful to be driving and see red Chile ristras out drying in the sun and all of the gorgeous golden cottonwoods along the Bosque. I also love that we have New Mexican stamp companies producing images of ristras, adobes, and cottonwoods; it’s so much fun to try to capture all the natural beauties with our paints and pencils. Oh well, that’s enough philosophizing about autumn!

The newly added fall stamp convention is virtually here – November 8th and 9th. For times, location, and vendor information, go to their website: www.rubberstampevents.com. CP2 will have three special things happening: 1) Judy Duke will be here Friday, November 7th  to teach a Christmas card class and she’ll make sure that the B&J stamps she uses are available for purchase 2) People wanting to sit down and stamp on Saturday can come to Kathy Rosecrans’ Organizer class at 1:00pm   3) CP2 will be open Monday, Nov. 10th from 10am until 2pm.

There are a number of wonderful classes being offered this calendar. I hope you’ll be able to join in the fun. A number of the classes will teach you to make things that can be great holiday gifts: check out Anne Engelhardt’s two jewelry classes. Judy Duke and Kathy Rosecrans have Christmas cards you’ll be proud to send. Teresa Stoa is continuing her altered book series with a stunning angel.

  • I’m keeping UPS, USPS, and Fed-Ex busy delivering new merchandise. I’ve just unpacked Cuttlebug Embossing Folders and lots of new stencils and pastes from Dreamweaver. Dreamweaver has several new trees and a lovely new angel. There are also instructions for using alcohol inks and pearl-ex with the embossing pastes.

  • I’ve received invoices to let me know that the new Tim Holtz Stickles glitter glue in all the distress colors should be here soon. His Christmas Grunge board is already here.

  • Also due in next week are the new “inchie” clear stamps from Inkadinkado. These will be super to use with the bookboard inchies from Magenta.

  • I’ve restocked the embossing powders – especially the metallics.

  • The new core-dination paper is here and I know you’ll love what you can do with it! Just run it through your Wizard or personal die-cut machine with the Cuttlebug folder or a stencil, lightly sand the paper and you’ll have another color or shade peek out. It is very cool.

  • Some of the new Wizard dies have come in – birds, butterflies, and sunflowers.

  • New colors of Glimmer Mists.

  • There are still more stamps coming in – oh, and more stickers, too.

  • Remember the one day sale, November 9th. All Halloween, Day of the Dead, fall, and Thanksgiving stamps will be 40% off!

I hope everyone had a chance to see the CP2 Halloween/Day of the Dead window. The Art Angels did an amazing job. Thanks to all the Art Angels!

Everyone, stay well and come in often.

Love ya,

Nancy
